Privacy policy

CML Learn is used without an account. We ask for no name, no email address and no phone number, and we build no advertising profile.

What stays on your device

Your progress — XP, streak, completed lessons, favourites, language and theme — is stored in your browser's local storage under the key "cml:profile:v1". It never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Clearing site data, or using "Clear local progress" in settings, deletes it permanently.

What our server receives

Two things only. First, the words you search for in the dictionary, together with your display language: this tells us which signs are still missing and need to be filmed. No identifier is attached. Second, if you choose to report a mistake, we receive your message, the sign or lesson concerned, your language and a random device id.

The device id

This is a random number created by your browser. It is not derived from anything personal, it cannot identify you, and it exists only so that several reports can be linked to one another. Clearing your progress generates a new one.

YouTube video

Videos are hosted on YouTube and played inside the app through the youtube-nocookie.com domain. No video loads until you press play. Once you do, Google may set cookies and collect data under its own policies, which we do not control.

What we do not do

No advertising, no tracking pixels, no third-party analytics, no selling or sharing of data. We set no cookies for learners; only administrators receive a session cookie when they sign in.

Administrator accounts

Administrators who add content have an account holding their email address and a hashed password. There is no public sign-up.
